The White Mountains, a great place to get away from the city life.  A community of family values, where during any season there is plenty of enjoyment to be had by all.  The White Mountains are home to hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, skiing and much more.
Southern Apache County has a number of industries.  Springerville/Eagar area is a bedroom community to two coal-fired power plants, presently being expanded.  The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests supervisor's office is located in Springerville.  The White Mountains are home to the largest Ponderosa Pine forest in the United States.

This area was originally called Milligan Settlement and then 'Valle Redondo' or Round Valley by early settlers and pioneers.   In April 1876, Henry Springer, a merchant from Albuquerque opened a large store and contracted for all the grain Round Valley could produce that year.   See the link below 'Round Valley As it Was!' for history of the area.
